1. How long do I have to pay for my ticket?
You have 30 days from the time you received your citation to make your payment to the Clerk of Court.
2. How long do I have to complete traffic school after I pay for my ticket?
The amount of time depends upon the county where you received your ticket. Generally, it is 60 days after you pay your ticket. Please contact the Clerk of Court in your "ticket county" for more information.
3. Who notifies the Clerk that I've completed traffic school...me or the school?
It is your responsibility to notify the Clerk in the county where you received the ticket.
While many schools provide course completion information to the Clerk of the Court, some counties require the traffic offender to provide proof of completion. After you complete traffic school, you will receive a certificate from the course provider. It is your responsibility to ensure the Clerk receives proof of completion.
4. How many points until a driver's license is suspended?
12 points accumulated within 12 months results in a 30 day suspension.
18 points accumulated within 18 months results in a 3 month suspension.
24 points accumulated within 36 months results in a 1 year suspension.
5. What happens if my traffic ticket is not paid on time?
An indefinite suspension will be placed against the drivers license until all fine, late fees, and reinstatement fees are paid.
6. I live in another state and received a ticket in Florida on while on vacation. Can I go to a traffic school in my own state and not get any points?
If you do not want points assessed, you must complete, in a timely manner, a traffic school course that is certified by the Florida Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles, such as our sponsor's course, www.LowestPriceTrafficSchool.com. By doing so, adjudication of guilt is withheld. When this occurs, the Florida Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles does NOT notify the DMV in the state where you reside.
